Computers are involved in most aspects of our lives. Unfortunately, computers develop problems from virus, spy-ware, malware, and many other ways. Basic computer troubleshooting is possible for even new computer users by just following a few simple guidelines.

The first step when dealing with any computer problem is to relax and take a deep breathe. Depending on the problem you are experiencing there may be a simple answer. Reboot the computer by clicking the “Start” button and then select “Restart.” Allow the computer to reboot and see if the problem is still present. Many problems are fixed by just restarting the computer.

If your computer problem still persists, run your virus software in the full scan mode to see if the issue is a virus. Once the virus program has run apply any actions needed.

Some computer software programs may stop working after using the program. Click on the “Start” button and select “Control panel.” Select the “Add/Remove Program” and find the program that is not working. Click the “Remove” button and allow the computer to process the request. Reinstall the program again after the uninstall is complete.

If the problem still persists with the computer, restore the computer from a backup on the computer. Click “Start”, “All programs”, and “Backup/Restore” option. Select “Restore from a Backup” and the computer will restart and take you to the previous backup that the problem was not present.
